Shah Rukh Khan kickstarts the celebrations for Indian Film Festival of Melbourne 2020


The Indian Film Festival of Melbourne is all set to take place in August this year. But, ahead of the grand event in Melbourne, the celebrations for the same kickstarted in Mumbai last evening. In the presence of the one and only King of romance, Shah Rukh Khan, the event was held to recognise and award a student with the Shah Rukh Khan La Trobe University PhD Scholarship. It has been awarded to a young female researcher from Kerala, Gopika Kottantharayil Bhasi, this year.

Ahead of August 2020, a prelude event was held in Mumbai and it had Shah Rukh turning up looking sharp as ever. The actor wore a pair of well-fitted black pants and a coat of the same colour and paired it up with a spotless white shirt that made him look dapper as ever. SRK spoke about the importance of education as well as congratulated the girl who got the scholarship. In an official statement , the superstar said, “The key to Empower women world over is only by providing them with education. I think education in India or anywhere else in the world is a step forward. Gopika is fortunate that she’s soon going to be studying at La Trobe which is a fantastic university and I’m glad she’s getting this opportunity to do a PhD on her research. I admire Gopika’s dedication and determination.”
