The 66th Vimal Elaichi Filmfare Awards was held in the Maximum city last night. Amidst the news of growing cases of COVID-19, the night was held to boost the spirit of movie makers, actors and technicians with the theme ‘Picture Abhi Baaki Hai’. The theme was so to keep the people of the industry motivated during these trying times and tell them to sail through it. The night saw many directors, actors and actresses as well as technicians arriving to celebrate the best of the year gone by. While Anubhav Sinha’s Thappad took home the maximum number of Awards including Best Film, Best Actor in a Leading Role (Female) and many more, Gulabo Sitabo too got many Black Ladies in its kitty. Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior also outshined in a few categories while Om Raut took home the award for Best Director for the same film.
The Lifetime Achievement Award went to late Irrfan Khan and his son Babil Khan was there to receive it and got extremely emotional when it was announced. Apart from that performances of Hrithik Roshan, Sara Ali Khan, Ayushmann Khurrana, Nora Fatehi and more kept the audience on their toes and hosts Riteish Deshmukh, Rajkummar Rao and Maniesh Paul too did a fantastic job. Check out all the inside fun from the event in pictures below…
