The Zoya Factor is a movie that people were looking forward to ever since it’s announcement. India as a nation is obsessed with both cricket and Bollywood, so naturally when these worlds come together, people get pretty interested. Starring Sonam Kapoor, Dulquer Salmaan, Angad Bedi and Sanjay Kapoor in lead roles, The Zoya Factor is a concept that truly has never been tried in Bollywood before so it’ll be interesting to see how the audience reacts to the film. So before the film hits the screens tomorrow, we list 5 reasons that we feel you should not miss out on this.
Fresh Pairing
The Zoya Factor brings a fresh pairing on screen of Sonam Kapoor and Duqluer Salmaan. While Dulquer is just one film old in Bollywood, he is a big deal down south with a massive body of work to his name. Dulquer began his career in Malayalam films but has worked in projects of multiple languages in South. His 2014 release Bangalore Days remains one of the highest grossing Malayalam films till date. Dulquer made his Bollywood debut last year with Karwaan. The actor shared screen space with Irrfan Khan and Mithila Palkar in the film which was a story of three people on a road trip.

Pairing opposite Dulquer in the film will be Sonam Kapoor. With films like Khoobsurat, Neerja, Padman and now The Zoya Factor, Sonam is proving that she is a versatile actress who doesn’t shy away from experimenting when it comes to her films. Sonam many times has spoken about how she enjoys doing comedies and looking at the reception that Khoobusrat got from the audience, we feel that she should star in more such comedies. Both Dulquer and Sonam are talented actors and bring various strengths to the table so it’ll be interesting to see how the audience reacts to their on-screen chemistry.

Feel good film
Admit it. We all love a feel good film. We want to go to the movies forget about the troubles of our lives and just watch a story that brings a smile to our faces. Now, judging from the trailer of The Zoya Factor, it looks like the film will give you just that.

The film brings us a fresh concept and it looks like it will have a healthy dose of humour, drama and romance making it the perfect choice to watch this weekend.

Abhishek Sharma
Abishek Sharma will be helming The Zoya Factor. The director’s first film was the Ali Zafar starrer Tere Bin Laden which went on to become a smash hit at the box-office and received lot of love from the audience. Post the success of his debut film, he went on to make The Shaukeens, Tere Bin Laden: Dead or Alive and Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran.

Now the director is returning to the big screen with The Zoya Factor. As you may have noticed, Abhishek is pretty well versed with the comedy genre and with The Zoya Factor being a romantic comedy, we feel that he will bring a lot of that experience to the table helping the film become a success at the box-office.

Interesting concept
Sonam Kapoor and Dulquer Salmaan’s upcoming starrer The Zoya Factor is the screen adaptation of a novel by the same name. The film has been adapted from Anuja Chauhan’s book which was published back in 2008. The book tells the story of a girl named Zoya Solanki. Zoya Solanki’s life is in a total mess. Her professional and personal life isn’t going great with her boss despising her and her boyfriend breaking up with her. Things take a turn when she is assigned a marketing project with the Indian cricket team. As she spends more and more time with them, the team begins to notice a pattern. They realise that every time that Zoya eats with the team, they get extremely lucky in the following match.

The Indian team goes on a streak of victories and soon the cricket crazy nation declares her as a goddess. Soon, Zoya is invited to be the eccentric president of IBCC (Indian Board of Cricket Control, a spoof of BCCI Board of Control for Cricket in India) and is asked to accompany the team whenever they are touring a nation for a series. From the cricket board to big brands, everyone wants a piece of Zoya and after her shot to fame Zoya finds it difficult to remain grounded. Also the fact that her partner and the captain of the Indian cricket team has no faith in luck and instead believes that it is only the word you’ve put it in on the field that wins you matches. This creates a lot of complications in their relationship. Despite all the issues, one factor that remains constant is Zoya being the lucky charm for the Indian team.

Cricketers backing
It looks like not only the general public but also the real men in blue are excited to watch this story on the big screen. As soon as the trailer released online, it attracted the attention of many current and former crickets like Sachin Tendulkar, Virendra Sehwag, KL Rahul, and Hardik Pandya. These stars loved the trailer so much that they couldn’t help but take to social media and shower it with praise.

Virendra Sehwag found the trailer to be super fun while KL Rahul said that the film looked like a true rollercoaster ride. The little master, Sachin Tendulkar too spoke about the fun trailer and gave his best wishes to Sonam and Dulquer.
