Alia Bhatt Meghna Gulzar and Vicky Kaushal launch Ae Watan from Raazi

Since the launch of the trailer, Raazi has been making headlines all over. And today, the entire star cast of the movie along with director Meghna Gulzar interacted with the media as they unveiled their song Ae Watan from the film. With Ae Watan, the talented trio of music composers, Shankar – Ehsan – Loy add another patriotic hymn to their career. The song is sung by Arijit Singh and penned by Gulzar. With Arijit’s gifted voice and Gulzar’s beautiful lyrics, the song turns out to be a real soulful number. 

In Raazi, we will see Alia play a character which is extremely different from what we have seen from her in movies so far. When she was asked about the same she said, “I think in Raazi, the audience will see me in a completely different avatar. At least that is my wish because Raazi as a film is very different. It’s the first time I am doing a period film and is based on the true story as well, so I am very excited for it and I hope the audience will like it.”

With this film, we will see Alia share screen space with her mother, Soni razdan for the very first time. At the event, she spoke about how at first, she was very stressed worrying about her mother. But, once they began shooting, she realized she had nothing to worry about. 

At the launch of the song, Alia Bhatt was also asked about her opinion on the recent horrific Kathua rape and murder case, which has left the entire country in a state of shock. When Alia was asked about the case she said, “It's a terrible thing that has happened. As a girl, a woman, an individual, a human being and as a part of this country, I feel very bad and hurt that this has happened.There was a time when I was reading a lot about it. From the last two days, I have parted myself with this as this was making me more and more upset and angry. I really hope, in my heart, that justice is served. We all should go out and condemn it."

At the event, Alia looked like a dream in a beautiful ivory blue anarkali. Her co-star Vicky Kaushal was looking dapper as he sported a black blazer over a plain white t-shirt. In attendance was also Raazi’s director Meghna Fulzar and Jaideep Ahlawat who plays the character of Khalid Mir in the film.
