Highway celebrates 9-year anniversary: Alia Bhatts rare pics from the Imtiaz Ali directorial

In 2014, popular filmmaker Imtiaz Ali who is best known for his romantic films like Jab We Met, Love Aaj Kal and Rockstar entered an unconventional territory and made a road drama Highway starring Alia Bhatt and Randeep Hooda.

The film was Alia Bhatt's second film after Karan Johar's Student Of The Year. In the movie, Alia portrayed Veera Tripathi, a wealthy and well-protected bride-to-be who is abducted on the night of her wedding and falls in love with her abductor while being taken to several locations throughout India.

Alia, in this film embodies the delicate balancing act between sensitivity and determination that it takes many performers a lifetime to master.
