Kai Po Che turns 10: Take a trip to memory lane for the Sushant Singh Rajput Rajkummar Rao starrer

Kai Po Che! celebrates its ten-year anniversary today. Directed by Abhishek Kapoor. It stars Rajkummar Rao, Amit Sadh and Sushant Singh Rajput.

The film takes place between 2000 and 2012 in Ahmedabad, where Ishaan "Ish" Bhatt (Sushant Singh Rajput), Omkar "Omi" Shastri (Amit Sadh) and Govind "Govi" Patel (Rajkummar Rao) decide to open a sports shop and academy; the film also depicts the 2001 Gujarat earthquake, the 2002 Godhra train burning, and the 2002 Gujarat Riots. Their deep friendship is chronicled in the film, along with their innocence, which has been tarnished by religion-based politics and communal hatred.

A decade ago, Kai Po Che! was released worldwide on February 22, 2013, and received six nominations for Best Director, Best Supporting Actor, Best Male Debut, and Best Story at the 59th Filmfare Awards. It won two awards, including Best Screenplay for Abhishek Kapoor and Best Background Score for Hitesh Sonik.
