Cinema legend Dilip Kumar laid to rest with full state honours

A legend and an inspiration for generations of actors, Dilip Kumar drew his last breath today. The news of his death sent waves of grief across the country with everyone from PM Narendra Modi to Bollywood celebs paying him tribute. Dilip Kumar was the last of the legends from Bollywood's golden era and is being laid to rest today with full state honours. Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray had visited the late actor's residence to pay his respects to the cinema idol.

Fans were seen thronging the funeral procession with the police and well-wishers guiding veteran actress Saira Banu. There was a police band and Dilip Kumar's body was covered in the national flag, the highest of honours.

Amongst those who had come to his residence to pay their last respects were Shah Rukh Khan, Karan Johar, Anupam Kher, Johnny Lever, Vidya Balan, Dharmendra and Shabana Azmi.
