Cinema legend Dilip Kumar to be buried with full state honours preparations underway

Legendary actor Dilip Kumar will be laid to rest with full state honours. The actor's death has caused much grief in the country with condolences pouring in from all quarters. “With a heavy heart and profound grief, I announce the passing away of our beloved Dilip Saab, a few minutes ago. We are from God and to Him we return,” the official Twitter account of Dilip Kumar had tweeted this morning.

For his work, Dilip Kumar was honoured with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award and the Padma Vibhushan and also holds the record for winning the most Filmfare Awards in the Best Actor category, including the first ever Filmfare Award for Best Actor (Male) in 1954. Kumar is also the only Indian recipient of Pakistan’s highest civilian award, Nishan-e-Imtiaz.
